Course Format
The content is varied, ranging from a general discussion on where cross country soaring stands in NZ today and how it is currently taught / coached, to sessions based on the new GNZ Coaching Manual ( https://gliding.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/GNZ-Coaching-Manual.pdf ) including the sports psychology of students & coaches, to more specific cross country coaching techniques.
The general aim is to give G and the participants a common view of where we are at and what a “G Dale lead coaching initiative” will contribute to the pursuit of excellence in cross country soaring in NZ.
Who should attend ( Attendees limited to 10 / 12 per day )
Experienced Cross Country pilots with a desire to share that experience with budding Cross Country pilots (who will be at a stage where they can climb a glider and land it out safely). Previous instructing experience would be useful but not essential.
When G has completed the first NZ wide series of 3 workshops, based on the discussions and the workshop findings, the overall coaching structure will be further defined and developed.
The venue for the above course will be our ‘Summer Clubhouse ‘ situated at JRville 63 Pah Rd Papawai.
